Tactile Minimalism

Joseph Dirand has been receiving a lot of “re-grams” for his Paris Apartment of late. In fact he has been receiving a lot of attention in general for his liveable reinvented minimalism and I am loving it! The Paris based architect and designer recently renovated his apartment to reflect his blended family. All of the hero elements such as the parquet de Versailles floor and the elaborate ceiling mouldings are surprisingly new.

Dirand used the best craftsmen he knew to recreate the former glory of his apartment. The traditional details of Dirand’s apartment are balanced with modern elements, particularly in the kitchen and the master bathroom, where he uses large slabs of heavily veined marble, a signature of his work. Dirand’s father was a renowned photographer and his influence on Joseph is evident. Joseph’s interiors feel like magnificently rendered photographs, filled with light and shade resulting in picture perfect design.

Joseph Dirand’s family home is wonderfully light filled and exquisitely adorned with curated pieces. Joseph Dirand is surely the king of tactile minimalism, warm and livable spaces.
