fusing the physical world

Every now and then I seem to being seeing lots uber cool street art by Lithuanian-born Ernest Zacharevic turn up in friends holiday snaps across Malaysia.

Ernest Zacharevic is a young Lithuania-born artist who is making quite some noise on the streets of George Town, Penang with his fresh approach to graffiti. This comes in the form of beautifully executed wall paintings, or murals, at selected streets in the inner city. Zacharevic says,“I always try to get inspiration from wherever I work, wherever I am, so every art work has its individual journey”.

By fusing the physical world with his imagination, the Penang-based artist makes street art that is realistic by adding something that breaks away from the 2D nature of graffiti. He uses props like old bicycles and motorcycles to bring his street art to life.
