cabin fever

The entrance has a somewhat seductive nature by being both inviting and at the same time secretive. You are led  by the curved path and by the series of roofs surrounding the entry. Yet the entrance remains hidden and uncertain, the use of shingles on the wall leading to the front underlines this ambiguity.

Located in Straumsnes, Tingvoll, Norway, the new main cabin at Årsund was built after the annex. Moreover, the annex was designed by another architect and completed a few years ago. Rever & Drage Architects had to design a new extension, which included the annex and yet at the same time created a new building with synergy to existing build that could withstand the harsh winds which are known to make the building sway!

The interior displays a sophisticated Nordic tranquility a reflection of the peaceful setting beyond the looking glass.
