Mal-Vi Architects is a multidisciplinary architecture & design studio experienced in architectural design and building development, based in Thessaloniki, Greece have recently completed a Doctor’s surgery that redefines health-care waiting rooms and treatment spaces bringing a sense of calm and tranquility.

Separating the medic’s office and exam room from the reception space and waiting room, a flexible partition was designed. The partition incorporates the reception desk, as well as the exam room entrance, while its bulging shape—deriving from the form of an acoustic wave, is a reference to the practitioner’s field of specialty.

The wooden sculptural surfaces were created using medium-density fiberboards (MDF) left purposefully untreated so as to reinforce the value of the simplicity of the materials used in contrast with their complicated form.

above and below – “Marvin the Martian” is a 50′ eco-sustainable fiberglass cruising catamaran designed by Maria Malindretou from Malvi Architects the project’s goal was to create a boat capable of being autonomous and self-sufficient from an energy standpoint. This concept boat has gained it’s fair-share of media throughout Europe and looking at the images below we can see why. This stunning sustainably designed vessel is designed with less propulsion energy ,vacuum infusion epoxy resins and Kevlar laminates where employed to achieve a lightweight yet inexpensive hull. The same lightweight approach was employed for the superstructure by using modern materials that conform to EU regulations. The multihull also allows for more space above deck; this provides an area of 35 sq m (380 sq f) of photovoltaic panels, supplying the vessel with enough energy to become self-sufficient.
