the hill house

The hill house designed by Andrew Maynard Architects based in Melbourne Australia decided rather than repeating past mistakes and extending to the rear of this existing home, they proposed to build a new structure on the rear boundary at the southern edge of the block of what had been until now, the back yard. The new structure faces the sun and the cantilevered box above acts as a solar eave, cutting out summer sun, while letting winter sun flood in. This house embodies serious design principles whist being fun and creative, I just love this project!
