an abandoned stable in Spain

Located in Extremadura Spain, an abandoned stable has been transformed by award winning design practice and developer Abaton based in Madrid. The picturesque house situated in a remote off the grid location is fully self sufficient which is something that Abaton incorporate into all their projects where possible. The converted stables employ the use of solar panels which store energy onto batteries for the cooler months and by turbines powered by two natural streams that flow through the project. The natural water flow can be viewed from various rooms within the house connecting the occupants to the natural springs. Seriously what’s not to love!
