Greg Natale inspired by “The Case Study Houses”

Royal Pine Resort by Greg Natale & Sunland was inspired by The Case Study Houses.”The Case Study Houses” were experiments in American residential architecture sponsored by Arts & Architecture magazine, from 1945 until 1966. It commissioned major architects of the day, including Richard Neutra, Raphael Soriano, Craig Ellwood, Charles and Ray Eames, Pierre Koenig and Eero Saarinen, to design and build inexpensive and efficient model homes.
Homes from the 50’s and 60’s were modern, clean and light, Natale decided to layer this minimal envelope with a Hollywood Regency style bringing  layers of pattern, decoration, opulence and colour.
Having done work for Sunland before with a lot of the past projects being mostly black and white so with this Natale wanted to explore, navy and gold, with retro forward furniture from Jonathan Adler which works well with the overall story.
