HIRAMEKI by Akira Isogawa
What a fabulous night it was as Sydneysiders braved the chill and headed to Wash Bay in celebration of the launch of the third collaboration with one of Australia’s most recognised and feted designers Akira Isogawa and Designer Rugs. The tone of the night was modern Japanese with koto a traditional Japanese string music played whist guest sipped on Pommery and St Germain overlooking Walsh Bay. Akira’s trademark breathtaking yet understated designs, have been actualised in this collaboration named HIRAMEKI, meaning ‘Inspiration’ Akira’s striking creations reference his current catwalk collections inspired by his travels in Kyoto and Paris. Akira’s love of exploring the juxtaposition between his traditional Japanese heritage and the celebration of Australia’s love of colour, has has translated into some exquisite pieces. Its was a fab night and I just LOVE the range!
