After 21 years the iconic Pier restaurant overlooking Rose Bay in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs has closed it doors and reopened as the Sailors Club headed by Jacqui Lewis the head captain, owner, client and designer! Lewis the director of FOLKE PR & marketing applied her creative vision to a concept based on a combination of a trip to Palm Springs, a love for Slim Aarons photography and the European coastal holiday. Lewis wanted it to be bright, gorgeous and fun, a relaxed ambiance that just made you want to cancel the rest of the days plans and soak up the afternoon. The palette is bold and bright with textural accents ramping up the urban coastal vibe without the stereo typical elements. The colour palette is very 1960’s inspired with canary yellows, bright turquoise colours mashed up with deep reds and a black and white base. The space is meant to create a bespoke experience for the user. You can pull up a stool, a chair, make a larger table or shift things around with ease. Perfectly executed, totally relaxed and very very Sydney. Love it!
