Port Arthur Tasmania

This small pavilion is a prototype suite for a proposed resort at Port Arthur designed by Circa Morris Nunn architects which was built prior to the construction of the main project to evaluate the design ideas. The project aims were to create a resort that was highly sustainable and paid homage to the convicts that settled at  Port Arthur. The prototype pavilion is a translucent skinned building, similar in size and scale to the simple domestic Georgian cottages that once formed the local village. This innovative project is utterly beautiful minimal and zen.
