The Woods… Little glass trees

The Woods is the second collaboration between the Norwegian design studios StokkeAustad and Andreas Engesvik, Oslo. These divine tree inspired creations were based  on forests and the lights of the North. A tree changing colour and transparency through the seasons which is captured in these stunning jewel like glass sculptures. The unique, free standing glass sculpture The Woods, are made from hand blown glass. Each sculpture consists of seven trees joined in two separate sections. The Woods were recently presented for the first time at Designgalleriet during the Stockholm Design Week in February 2013. For me they seem to have a 1970’s glassware colourway which I just love!

Below – Light Tray is the second product sprung from the collaboration between designer StokkeAustad and Andreas Engesvik, Oslo. The free standing tray, fixed light sources and hand blown tinted glass domes allows us to compose light in various combinations. Light Tray was first shown at Spazio Rossana Orlandi in Milan in 2011, and was launched in 2012 by the Swedish manufacturer Asplund.
