Monteverdi, Tuscany …. medieval beauty

Located between Rome and Florence, Monteverdi is a haven for the mind and the senses. This living stone village in Tuscany built in the 12th Century was recently refurbished by Ilaria Miani. Her style is renowned for it’s simplicity regardless of tends and personal style. The restoration work encompassed 3 buildings and with 7 boutique hotel rooms, consisting of 4 luxury rooms and 3 larger suites. Each room is completely unique, visually stunning and luxurious. What I love the most is the masterful blend of the ancient and modern like the fine silhouettes of the metal 4 posted bed and the metal-framed chairs set against the rustic timber and ancient walls. The ceilings are supported by wooden beams, centuries old and the walls encase one of the original walls of the medieval village. All rooms are finished with the finest linens, fabrics and furniture in the world. Each room is also a mini art gallery, containing pieces by acclaimed contemporary artists from around the world. Seriously what more could one ask for?
