For interior designers, Melrose Place in Los Angeles is a spiritual home of the best showrooms and for fashion it represents the heart of what’s hip. So when fashion young gun Derek Mattison opened his first store, it was a natural place to start. The store, designed by the talented folk at COMMUNE, has transformed the identity of the Mattison’s brand into a handsome and sharp interior that becomes a continuation of the clothes that hang gracefully on the racks. With expanses of brass on the walls, dark timber floors and soft lighting the design is masculine and simple but also intelligent and with the addition of the strong timber furniture the clever hanging plants this stunning space brings together the very best of interior design and fashion.
