Adam Cruickshank Australia
Award winning design, craftsmanship and a common sensitivity towards the environment and it’s materials is Adam Cruickshank’s mantra. His designs are characterised by his innovative methods of using timber, resulting in unique furniture and lighting solutions. Specializng as a Furniture Designer/Maker, Adam currently works as a designer in Perth, Australia. His existing body of work can be found in various private collections across the country. His craftsmanship is refined and his silhouettes are breathtakingly beautiful . I highly recommend a trip to his site as he does not disappoint!
Below – Ridge Credenza – Is a progression of a technique that Cruickshank developed over the last few years which allows panels to be formed into complex surfaces. (What ever surface can be created in paper can also be created in timber.) Recently his business has been using CNC technology for production and this has opened up a whole new range of possibilities. The creation of the Ridge Credenza is one of them. What he particularly likes about this design is the way the light subtly changes the appearance of the surface throughout the day.
Below Mars Ottoman – This piece can be used as a foot stool or occasional seating. The inspiration was to utilise a simple but strong structure which is crafted using elegant materials and contemporary lines.
Below Crescent Tall Boy – Another design which utilises the complex surfaces moulding technique. The design features a push release drawers system, suede lined drawers and a range of materials to choose from.
