It’s a small WORLD.

It seems appropriate that in this world where space is at a premium that I should feature a space saving design. The clever folk at illDesign have created a chic solution to adding extra space and better utility to this small apartment. Dubbed “The Living Cube,” the unit incorporates a guest bed on top accessed via a ladder with shelving on the open side to house the owner’s record collection, television and a small amount of clothes and shoes. Inside the cube the designers have utilised the space by creating storage for items that would otherwise end up cluttering hallways and living areas and in doing so have opened up the functionality of the main living area for more civilised purposes. For this small apartment, which the owner admits is quite inflexible I admire the design and function of this little cube as much as I would any of the grand interiors we are used to seeing. And living as I do in inner-city Sydney, I would happily have one in my own place!
