Basta – Basta

Exposed brickwork, bevelled white tiles with dark grout, industrial pendants and oak timber tables….whilst these finishes sound very familiar these days, it was the striking individually painted parquet floorboards within this interior that caught our eye.

Pasta-Basta is an Italian restaurant located in Chernihv, Ukraine.  The space is divided into two main areas, the main seating area and the servery area which joins an open kitchen. We love the mustard coloured leather upholstered banquettes and the black steel detailing that has been added to the brick walls.

An eclectic mix of lighting has been used throughout, from green powder coated highbays to vintage wall lights with exposed Edison bulbs – all sourced from local flea markets and lovingly restored.

Stencilled graphics have been applied to sections of the brick, original floors retained and a dusty blue used on wall panelling.  Need a carb overload and just happen to be in the Ukraine?  Maybe a trip to Pasta-Basta is your calling
