The Brazilian’s are known for their stunning architecture. They are known for their strong aesthetic that seamlessly combines the indoors with the out. They are known for creating extremely liveable homes that speak volumes to our own Australian sensibilities. They are known, basically, for good house design.
This house, by Aguirre Architecture, has a narrative that reads easily: high ceilings, movable glass walls, a refined materials palate and a relaxed air. Importantly though, this house also has privacy in spades. The façade of the house reads like a mini fortress and really does belie how open the house is beyond.
The boundary between the living areas and the pool terrace and garden beyond is completely blurred and given its southern aspect is sheltered from the harsh sun so as to be useable throughout the whole year.
For me, the cherry on top is the 69 feet long travertine marble clad swimming. Surely there could be nothing better than making up in the morning and doing a few laps in there while the coffee brews?!
