10 Degrees of Dessein furniture

Expanding on the 10 Degrees theme, Dessein Furniture Founding Director, Michele Chow, said: “As the sun rises we enjoy our morning cup of coffee and as it sets we are winding down with wine or dinner. This is where the subconscious significance of 10 Degrees arises.” “It’s when the sun is at this 10-degree angle above the horizon that we’re struck by its magnificent array of colours, hues and tones, and it’s at these times of the day – sunset and sunrise – that social activity comes to the fore,” Chow said.

“To respond to this Dessein works closely with our manufacturers to produce our products on a short, two to six-week lead time. We also work with local designers who understand the modern demands of living in Australia and respond to these in their work.”

Among Dessein’s newest products are three pieces by Adam Goodrum. These include a high and low stool and four-seater dining table which cater for compact urban living and a variety of hospitality applications such as casual cafe? settings, formal restaurant and bar environments.

Opening for just 8 weeks, from 24th October 2014 to 29th December 2014, at 117-119 Therry Street in Melbourne, interior designers will be able to experience the full, colourful and highly sensory effects of 10 Degrees in ‘real time’.
