steaming up in the kitchen!

Habitus magazine invited a some lucky guests to a stunning lunch at Sydney Indesign in conjunction with V-ZUG. If your like me and love to cook, I often wondered and asked myself why would anyone need a Steam Oven? I get by perfectly without one. Well not anymore!

V-ZUG left me gobsmacked, all the meals and canapés at the lunch were cooked in 2 x V-ZUG Combi Steam ovens. No cooktops, microwaves or other cooking device was used for the event.
They set up a BOH Kitchen in the back area with the little space they had and performed a total of 6 sit down events.
Melissa from V-ZUG said,”We wanted to show what V-ZUG could do instead of just talking about it. It’s not the first ‘pop up’ restaurant we have set up and it won’t be the last!”

What impressed me most was the fact you can actually create food that simply cannot be made in a conventional oven. For example dessert was a baked ice-cream served in crispy filo pasty and the ice-cream was firm and not even a little bit melted!
