Holland Park is arguably the best part of London and is where this six bedroom Victoria townhouse sits. Formerly owned by John Cleese, this impressive building is now home to a young couple and their children.
Scott Maddux in conjunction with his British design partner, Jo leGleud, collaborated with the London architect Nathaniel Gee on this project of generous proportions. They began by installing elegant new interior detailing inspired by the French Art Deco maestro Jean-Michel Frank.
I love the vintage and custom elements of this home from the marble and brass outdoor tables in the cedar-walled back garden to the 1955 pendant lights are by Serge Mouille in the kitchen. I love the lustre of entry hall stair runner which is made of sari silk – which is so decadent.
I also love the exuberant use colour which can most notably be seen in the pistachio-hued serpentine sofa in the living room and the ceiling fresco in the dining room, clearly inspired by Modernism is such a sexy ceiling treatment!
