Garden Life

With summer mere minutes from us here in Sydney, every year at this time my focus shifts towards the outdoors. This home known as AH House by the stellar Guilherme Torres breaks down the boundaries between interior and exterior living spaces so beautifully and effortlessly. The house and interiors have been designed to allow year round living between the two, creating permeable boundaries by mixing space typologies.
I see a lot of parallels between Brazilian and Australian design, the love of open plan, outdoor rooms and connection to nature. I think this house is a great example of incorporating the greenspaces as part of the interior resolution. It’s not an afterthought here, it is part of the story and obviously aligned with the way the owners live their lives. Torres is known for his mix of art, warm materials and a masterful balance between vintage and contemporary new furniture. The home feels relaxed, vibrant and curated.
