Carefully crafted in stone – Coogee

Madeleine Blanchfield Architects love design and are especially passionate about houses. Their work is bespoke and carefully crafted. The goal is always to deliver beautiful, elegant and timeless spaces with integrity and depth. Located in the dense beach-side suburb of Coogee, NSW, this residence required smart management of privacy while keeping the sweeping ocean views intact. Built for a family robust design was key, making sure the layout was liveable, light-filled and layered.
Simple and bold are the main design themes showcased throughout the home. A focus on quality materials as seen in SKHEMES’s Arashi natural stone slabs were fabricated into a freestanding washbasin for the main bathroom.

Carrara slabs were used for the second bathroom and kitchen island and splash-back, the simple colour scheme instilling a sense of peace and luxury. Sandblasted Perla stone was used for the pool area, to ensure a safe and durable outdoor area that complimented the natural foliage. Madeleine Blanchfield Architects skillfully balanced the use of stone and timber, quietly working together, bringing warmth and joy to each space.
